After three gripping series, the BBC have announced that the Saturday evening drama will not be returning.

The show averaged between four and five million viewers during its third and, it seems, final series. 1.7 million viewers tuned in for the final episode where Robin Hood met a violent end; murdered by a sword tipped with poison after disposing of his old enemy the Sheriff of Nottingham.

It appears that many Saturday evening dramas are being axed and replaced with even more talent shows and reality programmes. They attract massive audience but are also much cheaper to make! Who says TV is dumbing down?!
